Kali River Rafting Tour

Kali Rafting, Dandeli, October to June (Season may vary a little depending on water levels)

This is the best way to see the endangered and stunning environment through which the Kali River flows. The Kali offers a great opportunity to paddle through numerous, exciting technical class 3 rapids. The beautiful surroundings are home to a wide range of wildlife, including a flourishing bird life, in particular several species of very rare Hornbills. Monkeys, elephants, wild boars, sambar deer, crocodiles, giant squirrels and even sightings of leopards and a black panther have been recorded from the boats. The most popular tour is "The Kali" and is (9 km) long, offering nearly two hours on the water.

There are many great fun rapids to be found in these incredible surroundings. For the true nature lovers a "Kali Special" (14 km) is offered for groups, giving two and a half hours to enjoy the river and surroundings and another hour if you opt for the sumptuous lunch on the river. Including transport and briefing both these tours will take up half a day. This is a really pristine, uninhabited, spotlessly clean and very rare environment to raft through. A totally unique rafting trip that can be rated as one of the most beautiful stretches in the world. Since it is highly endangered and may not be here for many years to come we advise you to see it whilst you can.

Day 01 :
Arrival at Delhi and Check in at hotel for wash and change. Half day excursion tour of Delhi city. At evening board train from Delhi to Kathgodam. Overnight at Train.

Day 02 :
Early mornin arrival at Kathgodam where you will be greeted by the team member and then drive straight towards Pithoragarh, which is approx 07 hrs drive through the irresistible beauty of mother nature. Overnight at resthouse / camps.

Day 03 :
After breakfast at Resthouse in Pithoragarh, Drive to put-in at Jhulaghat. This is the initial stage of rafting that we begin. Raft an stretch of 15 kms of Class II+ rapids passing many stalactite and stalagmite formations. Arrival at Camp by late afternoon and hike to nearby village.

Day 04 :
This is the day where We pass Pancheshwar. Pancheshwar isthe place where river Kali meets the River Saryu, and is now called the Sarda. Arrival at Camp at afternoon for lunch. Free for own activities.

Day 05 :
This is the most adventerous day where river starts getting pacy with a series of Class III rapids. The day is marked by thick jungles and less-inhabited sections. Camp overnight.

Day 06 :
Rest day to explore the surroundings, hike and relax.

Day 07 :
Early morning get set go for rafting almost 20 kms where you will encounter with Class IV Chooka rapid. Overnight at Camp.

Day 08 :
We begin to enter the terai jungles today with great white water and the chance of spotting a wild elephant. We reach Boom for the drive to Kathgodam. Overnight Ranikhet Express to Delhi.

Day 09:
Arrival at Delhi and check in at Hotel. After breakfast, go for last minute shopping.
